Testnet guide

Shortcap runs on the Elysium testnet. Testnet HYPE has no value. Every demo market uses a mock token and a mock pool that anyone can push.

1. Add the chain

Or add it by hand:

NetworkElysium Testnet
Chain ID99801
RPChttps://testnet-rpc.elysium.kinetiq.xyz
CurrencyHYPE, 18 decimals
Explorerhttps://testnet.elysium.kinetiq.xyz

Source: the official Elysium docs.

2. Get testnet HYPE

Use the official Elysium testnet faucet. It gives 0.1 HYPE per day. You can also bridge testnet HYPE from HyperEVM testnet.

0.1 HYPE is enough: the testnet runs with every amount scaled down. See Risk parameters.

3. Mint mock tokens

Open a demo market from the markets page. In the manipulate pool panel, press mint. Mock tokens are free and have no value. You need them to sell into the pool or to add liquidity.

4. Open a demo market

The three demo markets are already open. To open your own, you need a token and a pool that implements the price-source interface, with at least the minimum liquidity. Paste both addresses into create market on the markets page.

5. Trade

On a market page, pick long or short, type a margin in HYPE, pick a leverage and press. Wait 60 seconds before closing. Settle funding when the hour is up. Liquidate anyone whose usage crosses 80%.

6. Push a pool

The manipulate pool panel trades against the mock spot pool:

  • pump buys tokens with HYPE. Spot goes up.
  • dump sells tokens for HYPE. Spot goes down.
  • deepen adds liquidity at the current price. The open-interest caps grow with it. Liquidity added to a mock pool cannot be withdrawn.

The panel shows where spot sits against the TWAP, the 15% clamp band and the 30% freeze line, and where your swap would put it. Push past 30% and the market freezes. Opening is refused until spot comes back or the 5-minute TWAP catches up.
